How many of these top ten extreme vacations have you been on? These are some of the best adventurous vacations that you could choose from. You are guaranteed to have a lot of fun on any of them.
Helicopter Skiing
Sure, everyone has gone skiing, but how about skiing after jumping out of a helicopter (heli-skiing) in Switzerland on the Swiss Alps? «Go!» the guide Gianni screamed over the din, and
our dazed group of six flopped out the door into white, blinding wind, grabbing our skis from the leg of the helicopter as we went.» That sounds like enough fun for any adrenaline junkie!
Bear hunt in Alaska
If you are the kind of guy who gets a kick out of pulling the trigger, then bear hunting in Alaska might just appeal to you. There is also ample opportunity to enjoy some of the best fishing the world has to offer, along with watching killer whales and porpoises frolic and eat each other. Whether or not you come home with a new rug, this trip will have satisfied the hunter-gatherer instincts that are merely teased by a sedentary city life.
African Safari
Go on African safaris and see the amazing wildlife and beautiful scenery on safari. An African safari is the ultimate destination for honeymooners, wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, there is something for everyone. You can customize your travel to make it as extreme of a vacation as you want it to be. Cool!
Mountain Biking in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains
Morocco has been a magnet for authors, artists and merchants over the centuries. Flavored by its European neighbors and its North African roots, cities like Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier ring with a foreign magic. Heading south from Marrakech, you can cycle along the stony paths and dusty trails of the Atlas Mountains toward Mount Toubkal. Along the way you can visit local villages and azibs (summer pastures), as well as historic and magnificent kasbahs (palaces). This trip will enlighten your perspective of Northern Africa, as you get the chance to mull in the crazy bazaars as well as look out from the area’s highest peak.
Drag Racing
Did you even know that you can go drag racing, legally? I didn’t. How extreme is this? For a lot less than you might have imagined, you too could suit up in a Nomex suit and burn rubber down the track in your own drag racing car! I want to go!!!
Skydiving
I can admit that I have been skydiving, and it was an absolute blast! I always go to skydive Tahoe with just one jump in mind, but I always stay the whole day. I love this place. Thehuge hangar is a great place to hang out between loads, whichisn’t long in the PAC 750, which climbs about 1000ft/min! Thatplane rules! Great for group exits. The views are unreal, and the weather is usually perfect, even in winter. If you are lucky enough to make a lake load and land on a beach at Lake Tahoe, it will be the jump of a lifetime. Sounds like a great extreme vacation huh?
Dive to the Titanic
Did you even think that it was possible to dive to the sunken Titanic? I didn’t! For $40,000 or so, you can actually dive down to the Titanic yourself! You can journey to the Titanic aboard the MIR I and II submersibles, deep-dive vessels capable of reaching ocean depths of 20,000 feet. Housed aboard the mother ship Akademik Keldysh, the two MIR submersibles are part of a group of only four deep-diving vessels available to the world’s scientific community. Constructed of special nickel steel, they are specifically designed to withstand the enormous pressures that exist in the depths of the oceans. Each MIR’s habitat compartment is 7’ (2.1m) diameter, accommodating three persons. There are no traditional bathroom facilities on board. Air pressure inside the habitat remains at a constant one atmosphere; the air is recycled in a manner similar to that used onboard spacecraft. During the dive, there will be a drop in temperature (to approx 54F or 12C) and some slight internal condensation.
TransAtlantic Sail
Just imagine riding a sailboat across the Atlantic. Dangerous? Yes! Awesome? Yeah! The time to cross the Atlantic will vary by boat, weather and the motivation behind the trip. The West to East record (Newport to Plymouth) is a little over nine days (just set a few weeks ago). This was a big boat and primed to go all out 24 / 7. I checked for some details and learned that they can average a cruising speed of between 7.0 and 8.5 knots. This should translate to something between 160 and 200 miles covered per 24 hrs sailing day. I wonder if I would survive the trip?
Space Travel
For the ultimate freaking extreme vacation we saved the very best for last! How about taking a trip into space?!?!?! The problem is that you need a spare $20 million to pay for a ticket to the International Space Station. But the European Space Agency and NASA have plans to take you into the great beyond, starting around 2020. I can’t wait until 2020! Does anyone have $20 million to spare? all? All.
Capsicum also known as cayenne pepper has been known to the natives of the tropical Americas for thousands of years. It was first introduced to Europe by Christopher Columbus as Guinea Pepper and was originally used by Native Americans that were located south of the Mexican boarder as early as 700 B.C. The mixture of chocolate and red chilies was a taste treat that was reserved exclusively for Aztec royalty. Although the exact origin of the word Capsicum is somewhat a mystery, it is assumed to be derived from the Greek word kapto, which means to bite. Capsicum is a fruit found on a shrub-like tropical plant that is technically considered a berry. The designation of it as a pepper can be traced back to Columbus, who compared its hot taste sensation with that, a black pepper.
Gerard referred to Capsicum as extremely hot and dry in 1597 and prescribed it to those with skin and throat infections. The health practitioners of the 1800s used Capsicum to counteract rheumatism, arthritis, depression, and chills. Capsicum was used in the early 1800s as a potent and safe natural stimulant and was believed to be able to treat a large array of diseases. It was first used orally to treat tumors, toothaches, fevers, and respiratory conditions.
